Les Palaces vus Par André

Les Palaces vus par André is the latest theme for Printemps‘ always amazing window displays. The idea behind Les Palaces is to capture behind the glass the glamorous life: what it’s like to be a young, rich, famous, fashionable, jet-setter checking into all the best hotels.  Each display features a selected “it girl” photographed in one of Paris’ finest places to stay and all the fabulous fashion she would of course have to bring along with her…

La Vie en Rose

When the weather is as pretty as this Spring is starting off I feel a bit like I am seeing the world through rose colored glasses.  The last thing I want to do is lock myself up inside so every free minute I have I spend in the open air. On sunny warm days mes amies and I love lounging on the Champ de Mars next to school with some music and a bottle of wine. Time to press play…

I found a beautiful little cherry blossom tree that still had its blossoms hiding at the side of the park. All the other trees are finally getting their green leaves back now.

I got this adorable new hat at a charming little shop in the Marais last week. In French this bowler shape is called a melon! My melon is a beautiful rosey pink.

Seeing the world through rose colored heart shaped glasses here…

I made this cameo ring the other day and took some pictures of it amongst the blossoms. I will soon be selling this ring and similar styles in many colors in the upcoming Bardot Boutique.

Mademoiselle Sofia looking beautiful in my new hat.

The flowers are so delicate…if you pick them they start dying within the hour.

Oui, c’est moi.

I wanted to take some of these beautiful branches home with me but I knew if I did they wouldn’t last long and thought it better to leave them there for the rest of the passers by to enjoy.

It seems like all over Paris is blooming in shades of pink.

I actually found this beautiful pink tree in Montmartre later this weekend.

And there it is…my version of the Eiffel Tower in pink in all its glory! Hope you had a wonderful weekend and get off to a great start this week seeing la vie en rose…

Alice in Printemps Wonderland ~ Part 2

For the second part of Alice in Printemps Wonderland, I invite you all to gaze through yet even more vitrines. You’ll see Alice is stumbling through Wonderland more fashionable than ever thanks to a handful of designers who were invited to put their spin on Lewis Carroll’s character. While I can’t remember all the designers, there are some I recall. Alice in their picture above is dressed in Stella McCartney. Would it be anyone else’s dream job to be in charge of merchandising the Printemps’ windows?

I would gladly have eaten these if there was not a piece of glass between me and my Laduree.

Alice wearing none other than Chloé.

These shoes were simply amazing. I would have sworn they were Louboutin but when I peeked there was no hint of a red heel.

The mystery designer adorned them with leaves, a pocket watch, flowers, teacups, teapots, beads, chains, pearls…

…and this beautiful antique key.

Tea anyone? There should be enough in there for all of us to share!

Each Alice wore one of these slightly frightening bunny masks.

This dress is fit for a modern Marie Antoinette.

My nose was on the other side of the glass so I couldn’t smell if this giant bunny was covered in real roses or not.

See you at the theatre!

P.S. Special thanks to Paris Atelier and French-Kissed for their kind mentions and to all of you who stopped by for a visit via these two lovely bloggers!

Alice in Printemps Wonderland ~ Part I

One of my favorite things about working in the 9th arrondissement is my close proximity to Printemps and Galeries Lafayette, also known as Les Grands Magasins. However this can also be quite a dangerous neighborhood as I often find myself spending my lunch break browsing the beautiful goods of these two famous department stores, and from what I can see during my lunch time shopping I’m not the only working gal with this bad habit. When I can resist the temptation to go inside, I still enjoy Printemps’ stunning vitrines. To celebrate the expansion of the Printemps Laduree and the release of Tim Burton’s Alice in Wonderland, Printemps‘ window design has fallen down the rabbit hole. In this first part of this two part post, fashion meets fine patisserie and furry friends…

I was so tempted to share all the photos of the vitrines with you in this post, but decided you will have to wait for part 2. The other half of this vitrine series features the designer’s windows, in which different fashion houses were invited to give their interpretation of Alice in Wonderland. I won’t keep you waiting too long though…check back later this week!
