Summer time and the livin’ is easy…If you have been reading Bardot in Blue for a while then you already know my love for eating well. Luberon life in the summer is one of leisure, taking the time to enjoy all the delicious things in life is one of my greatest pleasures when I am there. Fresh produce, big brunches, sipping rosé pool side, and the local restaurants or the tastiest part of summer in Provence…
Freshly sliced nectarines and mint…
Ice cream to cool off…
Dinner at my favorite Lourmarin Michelin Star restaurant, La Récréation…
More wine from the region and homemade tartes and ice cream…
Afterwards it’s nice to head to rooftop bar La Maison Café for an after dinner drink and some live music…
A full moon tucked behind the clouds on the walk back to the house after a summer night in town…
…and a photo of the sunflower field I took at night with an extremely long exposure. They glow in the moonlight…like a painting. C’est un peu Van Gogh n’est ce pas?
I don’t need a special occasion to buy something sweet, pretty and delicious. So I don’t see why I need one to share them with you either!
Hope you are all having a lovely weekend! Love from Paris…
P.S. The winner of the Janelle Burger fashion prints giveaway is the lovely blogger Lady Moriarty. Check out her blog, it’s great! Click here to see the random number generation proof if needed
After introducing you to the latest edition to the Ladurée family, the cupcake, I thought you all might be craving a bit more. Straying from my usual “ladies who lunch” approach to afternoons spent at the fabulous but very feminine institution, I invited my guy friend Habib last week to accompany me and see what summer looks like this year at Ladurée. Beleive it or not I had never been to the one in the Saint Germain area of Paris, but am now pleased to call this Ladurée my preferred location. The tea and lunch room has an asian influence with beautiful murals casting a pale blue over the salon. As lovel y as Ladurée can be, it can sometimes be a bit hectic packed with tourists, but a nice weekday afternoon spent at this location was calm and peaceful in this most serene and beautiful room.
Leaving we came across this adorable pink house hidden behind L’Eglise Saint Germain that I just had to share with you. Of course I didn’t leave without some goodies as well! You can see in my bag a little sneak peak of all the beautiful summer designs but I will show the playful window displays and seasonal packagings in my next post! Also let me know what you think of the minor redesign…new wall paper and header!
I did my best to get some snappers of my recent D.I.Y. rainbow manicure along with none other than Pierre Hermé macarons brought to me by a certain very handsome young frenchmen. They didn’t turn out as well as I would have liked but I think the point comes across. Anyone else tried out this look lately? I think it’s so fun for summer…
Now I am off to Provence for a couple days! Hope your weekend is as bright and cheery as this manicure!
P.S. If you are looking for more inspiration you know where to find it…
